Two's Fired Up For Big Derby Day

Our 2nd XV will face one of their toughest games of the season on Saturday as they welcome near neighbors Rhydyfelin to Mount Pleasant Park in another Worthington Mid District Championship fixture.

Games between the two Clubs have been hugely competitive over recent seasons but it is Rhydyfelin who have enjoyed slightly the better results in the last couple of years.

Beddau will face an unbeaten outfit who are equal on points with them in the league ladder. But Rhydyfelin have played just a single game this season in the league which was 33-8 win at Tylorstown at the end of September. The Village's second team have though had plenty of friendly wins against (Caerphilly (58-0), Senghenydd (26-14) and CR Cymry Caerdydd (36-12),

Beddau will be keen to return to the form that they showed last season and start to build some momentum in their defence of the league and cup.

Rugby Operations Manager Mal Davies is looking forward to the game saying "We always look forward to the games against Rhydyfelin. Always a real tough game on the field, but a good spirit off it. We know what they will bring to us this weekend and quite simply we have to front up and show what we can do. On our day we can be a handful, so lets hope it is this Saturday".

Kick off is 2.30pm and the match referee is Mr Robert Johns.
