New Rugby Pathway Group Set-Up

The Club are pleased to announce that they have set up their own rugby pathway group after discussions through the summer months. The group has already met several times through the season to outline their roles and responsibilities.

The group will look at all rugby issues in the Club from the mini and juniors through to senior rugby. They will lease with Rod Davey and his mini and junior committee as well as the youth and senior management team. The aim of the group is to ensure that the pathway from mini to juniors to youth and then into senior rugby is clear. To help bring better facilities to the Club, to help coach the coaches and ensure participation levels are kept at their record high. Links and relationships with local primary and comprehensive schools and the WRU Hub officers will be enhanced under the scheme. The final purpose is to produce and develop players for the 1st XV, regional and International teams. They also are tasked with continuing the Clubs primary aim of promoting a safe, fun and family friendly environment both on and off the rugby field.

The group currently consists of Stephen “Freddy” Phillips, Mal Davies, Gareth Vowles, Mervyn Roberts and Jamie Willis and there will be invitations to others over the coming weeks to join the group.

There is a huge amount of experience in the group with a good blend of playing, coaching and administration experience and the Club believe that this group working alongside the army of volunteers that already work tirelessly can develop a pathway to ensure that our Club continues to be one of the top participating Clubs not just in the region but throughout the Principality.

The group will shortly be meeting with the junior teams and their coaches / representatives and more details will be posted in due course.
