Dot’s Green & Gold Finale

Friday night’s 1st XV game at Ystrad Rhondda will not just be the final league game of the season for Beddau but it will also be the last game in the green and gold jersey for Club stalwart Owen “Dot” Cotton.

The hugely lovable character and Club favourite has decided to end what has been a fantastic career next season at his home village Club Ynysybwl and he leaves Mount Pleasant Park with everyone’s best wishes and gratitude for what he has done for our Club.

Dot played over 100 1st XV games for the Club and would easily have doubled that figure if it wasn’t for injuries and successful playing stints in the Premiership with Pontypridd and Bridgend.  He is a typical hard working prop forward who enjoys the physical side of the game and then the social side afterwards. The friends he has made in the game over a long period of time is endless and it is very rare that you don’t see Dot speaking to an opposition player afterwards who has turned out to be an old team mate or a long lost friend.

He has many friends both on and off the field at our Club and we look forward to welcoming Dot back to the Club next season when he has time in his busy schedule.

We again wish Dot every success both on and off the field in the future and he will be forever classed as one of the most popular and best props the Club has seen.

Thank you Dot.
