Our 1st XV will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing display at Glamorgan Wanderers last weekend when they host Bargoed tomorrow at Mount Pleasant Park.
The Green and Golds will be looking to put the 23-3 reverse behind them and return to the levels that they have displayed in several other National Championship fixtures this season.
The coaches have made numerous changes from last week and there are welcome returns for James Davies and Sam Edwards behind the scrum whilst Lloyd James, Matthew Howells, Ben Warren, Morgan Burgess and Lewis James all come back in up front. Sam Tiley will make his first appearance of the season from the bench after illness.
The visitors have as expected started the season very strong. An opening day 20-20 draw with Cardiff Met has been followed up by convincing victories over Maesteg Quins (53-0), Glamorgan Wanderers (32-16), Tata Steel (45-7) and Cross Keys (46-7). They currently sit in third spot in the table just three points behind leaders Pontypool.
The teams last met in the league in the 2015/16 season which was the year that Bargoed earned promotion to the Premiership. Honours were shared between the Clubs that season with Beddau upsetting the Rhymney Valley Club on their own patch by 21-14 before the result was reversed at Mount Pleasant with Bargoed coming out on top by 19-9.
Games between both Clubs are always tough and hard fought and tomorrow will be no different. It is always great to welcome our fellow Mid District Club to Beddau and we look forward to seeing them both at the ground and the Club afterwards.
Kick off is 2.30pm and the match referee is Mr Ben Whitehouse (Swansea).
* A big thank you to our Division One Championship winning side of 2016/17 who have kindly sponsored tomorrows game. It is always fantastic to see the side back at the Club.
