David Crom Thomas

The Club are absolutely heart broken to have received the news of the passing of David Crom Thomas.

Dai, a former Club Captain, committeeman and staunch supporter, was loved by so many at the Club and throughout the villages of Beddau and Tynant.

As a rugby player he was an excellent back row forward. He was strong as an ox and it was often joked that the only way of getting the ball off Dai was with a JCB. He absolutely loved wearing the green and gold jersey and after retiring from the game he put so much back into the Club as a hard working committeeman and an avid supporter. Up until this awful COVID virus hit us, Dai would be a regular at Mount Pleasant Park.

He found great pride in watching his grand children also pulling on the beloved green and gold jersey and adored watching the mini and junior section at the Club.

Dai was a proper rugby person. He would speak his mind on rugby and also in all aspects of life but he had a huge heart of gold and was respected and loved by so many far and wide.

Dai loved his walks around his village with his stick and was always happy to stop and talk to others and put a smile on so many peoples faces. He was certainly a legend in his beloved Beddau and Tynant.

Dai’s love for his rugby and village was only surpassed by his sheer and devoted love to his Wife Lynne, girls Denise and Claire and the rest of his family.

Dai leaves a huge hole in so many people’s hearts and we as a Club send out our deepest sympathy to Lynne, Denise, Claire, all the family and his many friends.
