Our Youth XV put on a fantastic display at Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday to lift the Cardiff Rugby Championship Cup in front of an excellent crowd.

The young green and golds really did the Club proud as they produced some excellent rugby to run out 29-22 winners over a very good Mountain Ash outfit who also played their part in a memorable final.

Rhodri Chatterley, Ioan Leyshon, and skipper Cian Evans all crossed for good tries plus they were awarded a penalty try. There was also an excellent touchline conversion from Leyshon and scrum half Alfie Egan also kicked a good penalty and conversion.

This was a great all-round performance and testament to the hard work that the team has put in over the last few months.

A huge amount of praise must go to the coaching group of Mitchell Jenkins, Julian Jones, Matthew Smith, Chris Jones, and Mike Neale along with the hard-working team manager Eleanor Butler who have really developed this squad throughout the season.

A special mention for Julian Jones who stands down as a coach after bringing a lot of this squad through mini and junior rugby into youth team rugby. A wonderful end for him with thanks from the Club for his amazing contribution to the Club over many years.
