Green & Golds Ready For Tough Quins Challenge

Our 1st XV face a big test tomorrow as they welcome Carmarthen Quins to Mount Pleasant Park in the 2nd round of this seasons WRU Specsavers Cup.

The Green and Golds have already lowered the colours of a Premiership outfit this term with an unforgettable 34-21 win over Bridgend Ravens back in September but know tomorrows task will be even tougher.

The Quins have reached the final of this competition twice but were beaten on both occasions by Llanelli (2009/10) and Llandovery (2015/16). They won through to this 2nd round tie thanks to a solid 36-25 away win at Newport in the opening round.

In the Principality Premiership, the Quins have enjoyed a good start with three wins and two reverses and currently sit in sixth spot. Their wins this season have come against Llanelli (28-18), Swansea (21-12) and RGC (22-6), whilst they were narrowly defeated by Pontypridd (20-17) and Cardiff (34-24).

Beddau have enjoyed a good few weeks of training and are again looking forward to the opportunity to play against a Premiership outfit.

The coaching team in all make a dozen changes from the last outing which was a 33-12 win over Porth Harlequins in the Worthington Mid District Cup. These changes show the depth of talent that the coaching group now have at their disposal which has caused and will continue to cause selection problems during the season.

Kick off is at 2.30pm and the match referee is Mr Carwyn Williams.
