Saturday Round Up

It was a successful Saturday for our senior teams as the 1st team earned a nail biting win at Glamorgan Wanderers and the Chuckles played some great rugby to beat Llanharan.

A last ditch Hywel Chatham drop goal earned the 1st XV the points in their WRU Championship East fixture at the Ely Memorial ground.

An outstanding forward display paved the way for the win with Sam Tiley grabbing a brace of tries and Lloyd James also scoring a well worked try. Cody Baker was again in good kicking form slotting the three conversions.

Once again this victory shows the spirit amongst the group as they were determined to grab the win that their efforts deserved. The win keeps them in the promotion spots leading into next Saturdays home game against Rumney.

The Chuckles who gave debuts to Youth players Cian Evans, Ellis Butler and Lewis Evans beat a never say die Llanharan at Yorkdale in a late arranged friendly.

Ollie Thomas was in great form scoring a hat trick of tries, whilst there were also good scores from Liam Powell, Gerwyn Powell, Ollie Wilde,Kallum Bundy and debutant Ellis Butler.  Bundy kicked three conversions whilst Wilde also added one to give Beddau a 48-7 success.

Some of the tries scored in the latter period of the game were outstanding with almost all the team handling at some point.

A huge thanks to Llanharan for making the trip up to Beddau and we wish them well for the rest of the season.

The Youth XV’s scheduled league game against Pontypridd at Mount Pleasant was postponed at the request of the visitors.
