Saturday Round Up

Our 1st XV and Youth XV both suffered narrow losses but the Chuckles kept up their 100% record with a good away win.

The 1st XV were left hugely disappointed to just claim a losing bonus point in their home Championship fixture with Bedwas. The green and golds again gave a very good first half display and lead at the interval by 7-3 thanks to a Jack Williams try which was converted by Callum Wheeler.
After the interval Bedwas chipped away at Beddau's lead and soon found themselves leading by 19-7 before Beddau threw everything at their guests. Lloyd James managed to cross after a good catch and drive which Wheeler again converted. But a late surge from Beddau was held out and Bedwas took the hard earned points.

The Chuckles made the trip to Porthcawl for a friendly fixture after their scheduled league fixture was postponed and like last week put in an excellent second half display.

Caelum Cox grabbed a brace of tries with Harri Bryant, Lewis David and Travis Warhurst also crossing the line. Owain Cotter kicked three conversions.

Chuckles coach Jason Powell praised his young side and particularly their discipline  against a good outfit.

The Youth XV made the short journey over to Sardis Road to play Pontypridd in a friendly fixture.
The young Beans put in another good performance but were unable to lower their hosts colours losing out by 19-7. The green and golds solitary try was scored by Harrison Dickson with the conversion coming from Harley Williams. Lewis Evans was awarded the man of the match after an impressive display.

The attention now turns to our junior Bulldogs teams who are in action on Sunday morning. Good luck to all involved.
