Green & Golds Lose Out In Worthwhile Friendly

Beddau lost 28-17 to a good Treorchy outfit in a friendly at Mount Pleasant Park on Thursday evening but despite the result it was certainly a worthwhile exercise with a full squad of 28 players getting game time.

The Zebras showed why they are top of Division One East Central with an excellent set of forwards and set piece as well as a lively back line. The visitors scored four excellent converted tries whilst the Green and Golds scored three tries themselves through Will Haly, James Davies and Cody Baker. Hywel Chatham got the solitary conversion.

Beddau showed their rustiness on occasions with some basic errors but they will be happy to have blown the cobwebs away and given game time to players that have not played for lengthy periods due to injuries.

The next scheduled 1st XV fixture is a home WRU Specsavers National Championship fixture with Cross Keys on Saturday March 21st (2.30pm).
