There is a massive fundraiser being held at the Clubhouse on Saturday March 30^th for a fantastic cause that has really brought the community together.

The fantastic Navarones will be playing at the Club from 7pm on the night and it is all in aid of raising money for Jax’s Journey.

Jax is aged 3 from Cardiif and is one of triplets who were born 12 weeks early. In spite of being premature they were all doing very well but then at 3 weeks old whilst still in neo natal Jax caught a deadly bowel infection called NEC that left him seriously ill.   

Jax had to have surgery to remove 90% of his large intestine. Jax was given a 50/50 chance of survival. He pulled through but was left with brain damage due to lack of oxygen to the brain. At 1 years of age Jax was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.  

Jax cannot stand or walk and suffers with cramps in his legs due to spasticity.  

He is a very bright, funny and loving little boy. Now Jax is getting older he is getting very frustrated that he can't do what his brothers do. We are raising money for Just4Children to support Jax to have spinal surgery called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR). This operation is in America with the best surgeon. £85,000 is needed to get him there and cover the costs of the operation and the intensive therapy afterwards.  

To raise money for this incredible little man, the world of sport has sent so many things to the night’s organiser Chris Dummett to auction and raffle.

There is a British Lion jersey from record breaking coach Warren Gatland, Wales signed jerseys from the Grand Slam winning squad, signed Manchester United jersey, Tyson Fury and Nathan Cleverly signed boxing gloves, Steve Davis signed snooker cue, Signed cap from Mclaren F1 team members Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorme amongst so much more.

The Navarones who will entertain the crowd through out the night are one of the top Ska bands. They play two toned ska music, The Specials, Reggae, Bob Marley, Bad Manners, Madness, and Desmond Dekker and much more.

It is going to be a fantastic night and tickets are still available priced at £10 and can be picked up at the Club.
