Battling Beddau Beaten By Champions

Beddau put on another hugely encouraging display on the weekend but Champions Pontypool edged the entertaining Championship match 29-18 at Mount Pleasant Park.

Poolers wing man Lloyd Lewis seemed the difference between the two teams as he scored a wonderful hat-trick of tries where she showed his fantastic speed. Former Beddau favourite Danny Hodge also got on the score sheet with a controversial early second half try.

Beddau will perhaps rue opportunities that they created yet again when the try line was begging. Plus a further two men in the sin bin certainly didn't help matters. But there is so much positives to take from this defeat against the side who will no doubt be in pole position for promotion in May.

Beddau scored an excellent first half try from Callum Wheeler and prop Ben Stephens crossed the line after sustained second half pressure. Zac Byard kicked two penalties and a conversion.

Lee Jarvis and his coaching team will be happy with the never say die attitude of the team and the effort that they continue to put in each week. If mistakes can be rectified then it is only a matter of time before small losses become good wins.

The team move on to their second away game of the season this Saturday at newly promoted Maesteg Quins.
