2nds Show Massive Battling Spirit

Our 2nd XV travelled to Ystrad Rhondda yesterday with a bare fifteen with several players unavailable due to work commitments and they gave a spirited performance that really pleased the coaching and management group.

Early in the game they were soon down to fourteen players when Club stalwart Dan Wyatt suffered a shoulder stinger. Ystrad played some good stuff and ended up going into the interval with the sniff of a bonus point at 19-0 up. Beddau were soon to lose two further players to injuries and played parts of the second period with three players short, but their determination was fantastic and they prevented their hosts from scoring any further points.

Rugby operations manager Mal Davies was full of praise for the team “To stop a team of the calibre of Ystrad scoring in the second period with a hugely depleted team was fantastic and is testament to the feeling and togetherness of the boys in the squad. The boys that turned up today really stood up and gave their all and we cant thank them enough for that”.
