2nds Come Up Just Short At Quins

Our 2nd XV returned from Trebanog on the weekend on the wrong end of a 13-10 score line against Porth Harlequins in a Mid District Championship fixture.

The Quins scored all their points in the opening period playing against a strong wind. Beddau hit back in the second period through a great individual try from debutant Jay Fletcher. Owen Cotter kicked an excellent conversion from the touch line into the wind. Cotter also kicked a penalty but the hosts held on to take the league points and keep their unbeaten start to the season going.

Rugby Operations Manager Mal Davies was left disappointed and frustrated with the performance saying " It was frustrating that we didn't score with the wind in the first period and it took us fifteen minutes of the second half to realise that we were getting nowhere kicking into the heavy wind. When we decided to go through the phases we looked good. But we have to give credit to Porth, they had a good pick and go game and they also kicked better than us with the wind behind them which forced us to attack from our twenty two metre line a lot".

Our Seconds have no league fixture this weekend but are looking at arranging an away fixture.
