Saturday Review

Our 1st XV could only manage a losing bonus point at Tata Steel yesterday in their fifth Championship league game of the season.

Centre Adam Ashford and winger Cody Baker got Beddau's tries with outside half Hywel Chatham kicking a conversion and penalty but it was not enough to prevent Tata taking the points with a 20-15 final score line.

Beddau slip to fourth in the table but are equal on points with second placed Trebanos and Tata who now occupy third place.

The 2nd XV's home game with Ystrad Rhondda was postponed on Saturday morning due to the Rhondda Club being unable to field a team.

 

The Youth XV though, contiuned their excellent start to the season with a good 47-7 away win at a young Gilfach Goch side. The coaches will again be happy with their squads performance as they now turn their attention to an away derby day with Pontyclun next season.

 

Our Friday night darts team had a break from action this week but a lot of attention was being paid to near neighbours Cwm Welfare's result with unbeaten Ogmore B. Cwm were outstanding but just lost 4-3 to Ogmore which means our "Bowcats" now slip to second in the table and two points off the top with three games to play.

Cwm Welfare AFC's scheduled W John Owen Cup 1st round home tie with Tynte Rovers was postponed due to a waterlogged ground, A new date for this fixture will be announced in due course.
