Beddau Re-Enforced For Trebanos Visit

Beddau will travel to Trebanos tomorrow in the WRU National Championship boosted by the return of a dozen players from injury and unavailability.

After last week’s nightmare of player unavailability and a drubbing by Premiership side Llandovery in the WRU Cup, the Green and Golds are focussed on the league and survival in the Championship.

Trebanos though will be a massive challenge on their own patch. The Swansea Valley outfit currently occupy seventh spot in the table which is a place higher than the Green and Golds and they have accumulated six more points in the twelve games they have played. They have recorded four wins this season a including a double over Tata Steel (33-27 away & 21-8) and victories over Newbridge (31-17 home) and Newcastle Emlyn (26-19).

They also enjoyed a good 34-5 win over Maesteg Quins last week in the WRU Cup which has coincidentally seen them draw Llandovery in the last sixteen of the tournament.

The two teams met earlier in the season at Mount Pleasant Park and it was Beddau who came out on top by 22-13 in an entertaining game. Callum Wheeler scored a brace of tries that afternoon and Jack Perkins also crossed the whitewash. Top points scorer Hywel Chatham kicked two conversions and a penalty.

Match referee is Mr Gareth John.
