Our Club has an incredible record of producing players for not just our first team but for Premiership, Regional and Welsh International sides.

As a village and a tight community this is something that we are extremely proud of. But none of this would be possible without our brilliant volunteers in the mini and junior section.

Heading up this section is Chairman Rod Davey. Rod took over the reigns a few seasons ago and was tasked to fill the shoes of Maria and Jason Powell who had run the section superbly for many, many years prior.

It was a huge task to take on but Rod has built on the work of his predecessors and has over seen quite an influx of players into the section which now means that the Club has the biggest player participation level in the Cardiff Blues region and one of the largest in Wales.

Rod does quite a considerable amount of work in the background for the Club along with his trusted committee who we will look at in the future weeks.

He coaches the under 15's every Wednesday and Friday and is also with them on match day Sundays. He is at the field and Clubhouse on Saturday's where he is keen to help out with anything possible and ensure that the junior section hut is all prepared. He plays a pivotal role in the annual firework display which helps massively towards the funding of the junior section for the season. He is also the lead man with organising the kit not just for the junior side of the Club but also the senior side. In his spare time he also runs the on line Club shop. He also attends numerous meetings each week and possibly one of his biggest achievements in the role has been to help the community get the new sports facilities at Bryncelynnog. Rod was constantly chasing these facilities up with council officers, local councilors and even local MP's and MEP's. 

Rod was a superb second row / back row man in his younger days and his experience has been rubbing off on the under 15's with them putting on some excellent displays.

We as a Club cannot thank Rod enough for all the time he dedicates to the Club. Our junior section seems to be going from strength to strength and Rod's input in this has been and continues to be massive.
