Future Is Bright With 1st Class Youth Coaching Team

The future is certainly in good hands at Beddau with the confirmation of a new and exciting Youth coaching team for the new season.

With an already talented squad in place, they have now been complimented by a very special group of players stepping up from under 16s rugby last season.

Club stalwart and favourite Leighton "Pongo" Williams once again heads up a group of coaches. The experienced and knowledgeable Dai Bartlett will also be part of the team that includes Craig Williams and Gareth Vowles. The latter having been one of the Clubs greatest players of the modern era and captaining the Club during their brilliant surge up the National league in the 1990's. Craig who is perhaps probably better known as Young Pongo, was also a fantastic prop forward for the Club with superb ball skills and understanding of the game. His enthusiasm along with the other coaches drive will certainly help develop the young Green and Golds squad. Stephen "Freddie" Phillips is also helping out the young backs on a part time basis.

The coaches hard work on the field will again be complimented by the brilliant work of team manager Justine Morris off the field. Justine works tirelessly for the youngsters and we are lucky to have her on board again this season.

The youth set up will incorporate an under 17s team this season with several fixtures arranged, the first being tomorrow evening with a trip to Pencoed (7pm).

We wish the Youth and the under 17s every success for the new season, they certainly are in the right hands.
