Anthony Nolan Are Being Supported By Jamie Willis

Team manager Jamie Willis has utilised the player / leisurewear sponsorship scheme this season to raise awareness of the Anthony Nolan Charity.

The charity is very close to the heart of Jamie. His wife Amie was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia back in the summer of 2016 whilst pregnant. She was instantly taken to the University of Wales Hospital, Cardiff where she begun Chemotherapy treatment and just a few weeks later gave birth to their son Jack. Amie was told she was in remission early in 2017 but was given the awful news that the disease had returned in early 2018. She was told she needed a bone marrow transplant which subsequently took place in May, with the early results of this process looking very good. Amie was helped by a German bone marrow donor and this was only possible via donor site like Anthony Nolan.

Because of this, Jamie or Winko as he is known to many decided to start help fundraising for Anthony Nolan and raise awareness of donor programmes and how easy it is to see if you can be a donor to help give someone a second chance at life.

Anthony Nolan is a pioneering charity that saves the lives of people with blood cancer. Every day, they use their register to match remarkable donors willing to donate their blood stem cells to people who desperately need lifesaving transplants.

We urge all players, supporters and members to look at the website and try and help them by becoming a donor. It only takes a minute of your time to save some one’s life.
