Beddau Prepared For Champions Visit

Our 1st XV welcome WRU Championship Champions Pontypool to Mount Pleasant Park tomorrow in the third round of this seasons league schedule.

After the disappointment of narrow defeats to Narberth and Bedlinog in the opening games, the Green and Golds will be keen to put on a big performance against the title favourites.

Lee Jarvis and his coaching team have made four changes to the team that threw away a big lead at Bedlinog last weekend.

In the pack Jack Perkins returns at number eight. There is a reshuffle in the back line with Callum Wheeler moving to full back and Tom Preece moving to the wing to allow Zac Byard to return at outside half. Lewis Egal is back in the centre after a hamstring problem to replace the unavailable Keiran Gay who impressed in his debut last week, whilst Dai Francis makes a first start of the season at scrum half.

Pontypool by their massive standards have not hit full throttle yet but welcome back several key players tomorrow who missed their opening games. They were given two tricky early season fixtures. A solid second half display saw them edge out Ystrad Rhondda on the opening day and then last week battled passed a hugely reinforced Tata Steel outfit.

It is always a pleasure to welcome Pontypool to Mount Pleasant Park. They have the biggest and loudest travelling support in the Championship and always bring a fantastic atmosphere to the Clubhouse after the game.

It will also be great to see Club favourite Danny Hodge back at the Club. Our players and supporters really enjoyed having Danny around in what was a hugely successful time for the Club. We hope he enjoys every success with Pooler but not too much this weekend.
