1st XV Ready For Vital Tata Challenge

Our 1st XV will welcome Tata Steel to Mount Pleasant Park tomorrow for another vital WRU National Championship fixture.

Both teams are desperate for points in the bottom half of the table as they look to dig themselves out and away from the relegation spots. Beddau currently lie in bottom place in the league but with a win tomorrow and if results go their way they could propel themselves up to seventh place in the table. Tata on the other hand could open a gap over the bottom sides with a victory.

The Margam based side overwhelmed the Green and Golds back in October with a heavy 57-17 win. This defeat was certainly one of the low points of the season for Beddau and the players will be keen not to make the same mistakes and gift their visitors another win.

Last season’s fixture at Mount Pleasant Park was a tight 14-10 win for the visitors, a game which Beddau fought to the death in. That type of character will again be needed against a very good Tata side.

Beddau will welcome back last seasons skipper Jordan Goodwin and fellow back man Jack Perkins after lengthy layoffs, whilst a back injury has ruled out Rhys Owens which means Sam Tiley moves up into the boiler house. Tom Geere gets a well deserved start at hooker. Behind the scrum captain Lewis Egal and Adam Ashford also return after injury.
